Use the AI you already have

• Sign in with your existing AI subscription, inside the provider’s own official tool.
• Use AI from your own cloud account, billed to that account.
• Inline suggestions as you type, from a coding assistant you already use.
• Add your own API keys, or point it at a compatible endpoint, including models running locally on your Mac. Keys are kept in your Mac’s Keychain.
• Or just use the built-in AI: Describe your change and Writing Tools, free and private on your Mac, with nothing to sign in to.

Ask, edit or let it work

• Ask mode reads and explains without changing anything. It is the default.
• Edit mode proposes changes as a diff; accept or reject each part.
• Agent mode can run commands for you, asking before each one.
• Mention @file, @folder or @selection to point it at exactly what you mean, or press Cmd+I to ask about the selection in place.

Safe with huge files

The AI reads your files through TextEditor++, a slice at a time, so it can search and read a multi-gigabyte log without ever loading the whole thing. The panel shows how much it has read.

Your account, your data

• No TextEditor++ account and no login form: sign-in happens inside each provider’s own tool.
• You pay your AI provider directly under your own plan; TextEditor++ adds no charge.
• Nothing is applied until you choose, accepted changes can be undone like any other edit, and nothing is saved until you save.
• TextEditor++ never collects your prompts, code or chats.
