I’m building TextEditor++ with a simple ambition: to give you a powerful text editor for your MacBook—one that opens even very large files efficiently. Because opening a text file shouldn’t require a coffee break, a deep breath, and a small prayer.

Your MacBook is powerful.
Your text editor should act like it.

But behind every file is something that matters: your work, your ideas, your time. I want to build an editor that treats them with care, whether you’re opening a tiny note or a file that other editors would rather pretend doesn’t exist.

And yes, there’s AI now. Apparently it’s the law. I built it around your privacy. Writing Tools and the chat are built on Apple Intelligence and run right on your Mac. They need no internet connection, your text never leaves your Mac, and they cost you nothing: no subscription, no meter, no “you’ve used 80% of your AI credits” email. Your secrets stay between you and your Mac, which is how secrets are supposed to work.

If you’d like more, you can bring Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot with the account you already have, and I don’t add a charge on top. That’s your choice, never the default.

Any change they suggest waits for your OK, because AI is confident, not always right. And if you’d rather not have AI at all, one click turns it all off. No hard feelings. It won’t sulk.

And your MacBook won’t have all the fun for long. TextEditor++ is coming soon to iPad, iPhone, Android tablets, Android phones, Windows and Ubuntu. Does the world really need a text editor on every screen it owns? Probably not. But if you ever have to open a 5 GB log file on your phone at a family dinner, you’ll be glad I didn’t ask.

My promise is to keep listening, keep improving, and earn your trust with every release. I can’t promise your typos will get better. I can promise I’ll keep working to make your editor better.
