Is TextEditor++ open source? Can I modify its code?
TextEditor++ is proprietary software that is free to use. Its original app code remains the publisher’s property. Free use does not grant permission to modify or redistribute that code without written permission, subject to applicable law and third-party licences. You can still edit your own work using the app.
Is there a premium version or paid upgrade?

Can I open cloud logs and DevOps log files?
Yes. Connect to a server over SSH and open its logs directly, or follow them live as they’re written. Docker containers, Kubernetes pods, system journals and cloud log services are supported through the tools you already use, and downloaded log files open like any other file.
Can I get the text out of images, PDFs and Word files?
Yes. Choose images, paste a screenshot, or open a PDF, Word or Pages file, and the text opens in a new tab. PDF pages keep their numbers, and text in screenshots and photos is recognised. Recognition runs on your Mac; nothing is uploaded.
How can I format logs for troubleshooting?
Use text editing, search and replace, and recorded keyboard macros to clean up repeated prefixes, adjust spacing, and prepare readable log excerpts. These are local editing workflows for exported logs; no connection to your cloud account is required.

It sends anonymous usage statistics, such as the app version, macOS version and which features are used, to help improve the app. It never sends your documents, file names, file paths or search terms. You can turn usage statistics off in Settings.
